A thorough and in depth analysis of tawaifs. What i really liked in the article, is the insight world of these women. They had a history which termed them as defamed, malicious women. But on the contrary these women had tried to relocate themselves in the cultural and social scenario. They wanted respect for their pursuit of arts and wanted to refer them as artists.
